Job description
Role Overview
This position assists the Senior Manager of Safety and Certifications in maintaining compliance with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Aerodrome Certificate and related regulatory requirements. The incumbent will ensure the effective management and oversight of the Safety Management System (SMS) within Abu Dhabi Airports.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Manager in preserving the GCAA Aerodrome Certificate through diligent implementation and supervision of the SMS.
- Collaborate in the creation, review, and communication of safety policies, manuals, and procedures, ensuring continuous updates to align with Aerodrome Certificate mandates and GCAA regulations.
- Assist in setting strategic safety targets and establishing key performance indicators for aerodrome safety performance.
- Identify, assess, and escalate safety risks to senior management via structured safety review meetings.
- Ensure adherence to objectives, benchmarks, regulatory guidelines, international norms, and industry best practices.
- Track safety outcomes relative to strategic goals and KPIs, delivering regular updates to the Senior Manager.
- Lead periodic safety meetings and forums with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the hazard reporting system and guarantee timely resolution of reported issues.
- Maintain and update Aerodrome and SMS manuals and procedures to remain compliant with regulations.
- Assist in compiling safety reports, assessments, and safety cases for submission to senior leadership and the GCAA.
- Contribute to the design and rollout of safety campaigns and awareness initiatives.
- Monitor compliance to Aerodrome and SMS manuals, providing guidance and support to departments and stakeholders as needed.
- Ensure effective management of significant operational changes through the Management of Change process.
