Role Overview
The Senior Officer AVP is responsible for supporting the administration, inspection, and enforcement of airside driver and vehicle permit processes at Zayed, Delma, and Sir Bani Yas airports. This position ensures adherence to all safety, security, and regulatory standards by managing permit systems, conducting examinations and inspections, and maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, review, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures, Airside Driving Regulations, and related guides to maintain compliance with company policies, CAR ADR, ICAO standards, and local protocols.
- Ensure compliance with airside safety and security regulations and promote initiatives to reduce incidents and enhance sectional performance.
- Process and approve Airside Driving Permits (ADPs) applications, inspect vehicles for Airside Vehicle Permits (AVPs), and enforce valid licensing for all airside drivers.
- Maintain detailed, auditable records of all permit applications, inspections, approvals, rejections, and associated documentation.
- Compile monthly and annual statistics related to ADP and AVP permits, including performance monitoring and revenue reporting.
- Manage candidate registration for theory and practical examinations, ensuring the scheduling and administration of tests are efficiently handled.
- Oversee examination records and approve ADP equipment categories after careful verification.
- Develop and enhance the digital permit system to improve processing efficiency, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Conduct routine inspections and follow-up audits to verify compliance and assist in resolving nonconformities identified through audits.
- Support enforcement actions, including the suspension or cancellation of permits as required, and ensure all incidents are promptly reported to Airside Safety.
- Collaborate with internal departments including operations, safety, security, and logistics to coordinate airside safety initiatives and improve driver conduct.
- Provide operational assistance to the ADP/AVP Manager and mentor junior trainers to foster continuous learning and safety excellence.
- Travel as required between the three airport locations to fulfill job duties.
