Job description

Role Overview

This opportunity is with a consumer packaged goods company and not with the recruiting firm. The company is looking for a Senior National Account Manager to own the Walmart relationship and help shape the next phase of growth for a major retail partnership. The role is centered on building customer strategy, improving profitability, and maintaining senior-level relationships across Walmart.

The right candidate will already understand the Walmart account environment, have strong retail account leadership experience, and be comfortable turning commercial insight into measurable sales growth, broader distribution, and effective joint business plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for Walmart and manage the account end to end.
  • Create and run annual plans designed to increase revenue, profit, and market share.
  • Develop trusted working relationships with Walmart buyers, category teams, and other key stakeholders.
  • Spot opportunities to widen assortment, launch new items, and support promotional activity.
  • Review sales movement, category results, and market data to build practical growth plans.
  • Handle negotiations, pricing conversations, and promotional planning with the customer.
  • Work closely with marketing, supply chain, finance, category management, and operations to ensure execution stays on track.
  • Track forecasts, inventory, and overall business performance while identifying risks and upside opportunities.
  • Prepare and present business reviews and performance updates for senior leadership.

Candidate Profile

  • You should have at least 10 years of experience in sales or national account management within the consumer packaged goods sector.
  • Prior responsibility for the Walmart account is highly preferred.
  • You need a solid grasp of Walmart systems, ways of working, and customer expectations.
  • A history of increasing revenue, growing distribution, and managing large retail accounts is important.
  • Experience with joint business planning, category management, customer negotiations, and promotional execution is expected.
  • You should be comfortable analyzing data and using it to guide commercial decisions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship management skills are essential.
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Additional Information

This is a remote full-time position based in the United States. The company offers a competitive compensation package that includes base pay, bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.

Applicants who have successfully expanded the Walmart business and want to contribute to a high-visibility strategic account should consider this opportunity.
