Job description
Role Overview
Join the MPA Academy team in Singapore to design and execute training strategies that enhance the skills and knowledge of Maritime and Port Authority staff. This position focuses on developing comprehensive training plans and delivering impactful learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough skills gap analyses and training needs assessments to create targeted training roadmaps and programs tailored to bridge these gaps, enabling staff to improve job performance.
- Collaborate with MPA divisions to develop and regularly update training curricula, ensuring content remains current and relevant. Identify necessary courses aligned with key domain competencies, coordinate with training service providers, and critically assess course content, instructor expertise, and pricing.
- Stay abreast of maritime sector trends in learning and development, integrating best practices into training initiatives.
- Partner with relevant divisions to enhance training delivery methods, including expanding e-learning capabilities and supporting the deployment of a Learning Management System.
- Promote training programs, MPAA courses, and related events through multiple communication channels such as newsletters, brochures, email campaigns, and videos.
- Leverage data analytics to guide training strategies, evaluate program impact, and produce insightful reports and presentations for continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with adjunct trainers, in-house facilitators, and external training providers to plan and execute courses and introduce innovative learning techniques.
- Establish collaborative partnerships with public agencies, industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and institutes of higher learning to explore joint initiatives and training offerings.
- Lead efforts in documenting and sharing institutional knowledge through diverse formats like case studies, interviews, and recordings of public lectures conducted by the Academy.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a cooperative and inclusive work environment.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams across MPA to ensure aligned and integrated training programs.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support organizational goals.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Possess a tertiary qualification with at least 5 to 6 years of pertinent experience managing and coordinating training programs and organizing events such as seminars and talks. Experience in curriculum development is advantageous.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and writing skills.
- Preferably possess sound knowledge of the maritime industry and the ability to collaborate effectively within team settings.
- The job title will be determined commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
