About the Role
Join JPMorgan Chase as a Senior Manager of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) based in Dublin, Ireland, contributing to the advancement of the Infrastructure Data Platform. This role involves designing, maintaining, and enhancing crucial cloud infrastructure and applications to boost reliability and efficiency. You'll play an instrumental role in innovating solutions to complex business challenges through automation, code, and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in developing scalable designs and gaining team consensus, while promoting best SRE practices within your group.
- Partner with software engineers and teams to create, test, and deploy reliable systems using CI/CD pipelines.
- Leverage authorized AI tools to speed up incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident reviews, ensuring data sensitivity and security compliance.
- Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for assigned platforms and applications.
- Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders to tackle complex issues proactively and uphold service level goals to avoid customer impact.
- Utilize AI tools to detect patterns indicating reliability risks or repetitive manual work and prioritize improvements aligned with service level objectives.
- Possess detailed knowledge of application availability, reliability, and scalability, working closely with partners to iteratively enhance these aspects.
- Identify obstacles proactively, suggest solutions for business problems, and evaluate adoption of new technologies when suitable.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Formal education or certification in site reliability engineering concepts with hands-on advanced experience.
- Strong understanding of site reliability engineering culture and methods, including practical application to software or platforms.
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java (including Spring Boot), and .Net.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI tools for supporting SRE workflows, including validating AI-driven recommendations and managing sensitive data securely.
- In-depth knowledge of software applications and technical processes related to cloud computing and AI.
- Hands-on expertise managing cloud and data platforms such as AWS (including EC2, Athena) and Snowflake with a reliability-first approach.
- Experience with observability tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, and AppDynamics for monitoring and alerting based on service level objectives.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform.
- Competency in container technologies and orchestration platforms including Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS, plus troubleshooting common network issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of release engineering, GitOps, branching models, and change control practices.
- Experience in incident management, on-call responsibilities, capacity planning, and overall reliability engineering.
- Skill in authoring pipeline configs (e.g., YAML) and infrastructure templates (e.g., Terraform, ARM).
- Capacity to assess risks calmly under pressure and communicate clearly.
- Additional experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is advantageous.
