Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Media Relations and Storytelling role at Endeavor Health involves leading the external communication strategy to showcase the organization's clinical achievements, community impact, and key personnel. This position requires working collaboratively with clinical institutes, leaders, and teams to unearth compelling narratives and transform them into multifaceted media and influencer campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Marketing & Growth as well as Community Impact & Engagement teams to foster strong relationships with clinicians, experts, internal teams, and external partners, maintaining active engagement for story identification and media opportunities.
- Lead creation and review of diverse communication materials including press releases, speeches, blogs, social media posts, and multimedia content that reinforce strategic messages.
- Oversee PR measurement and monitoring aligned with departmental dashboards, providing media activity reports and real-time updates to senior leadership.
- Serve as an inspirational leader to direct reports and the wider Marketing & Communications team, promoting modern communication techniques and responsible use of generative AI.
- Support experts and community teams in identifying and promoting awards and thought leadership acknowledgments.
- Function as Public Information Officer for specific hospitals, executing emergency communication plans and collaborating with operational leaders during incidents.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, or relevant area (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum six years of experience in public relations or related communications field, including at least two years in leadership roles.
- Expertise with PR measurement tools, with a minimum of three years experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, adept with AP Style guidelines.
- Experienced in crisis communication and issue management with sound judgment and composure under pressure.
- Proven ability to develop strategic, data-driven communication campaigns.
- Multimedia content creation skills including video and photography basics, along with proficiency in amplifying content on diverse platforms.
- Awareness of contemporary communication best practices including generative AI integration.
- Natural aptitude for storytelling aligned with business strategies and audience engagement.
- Established media relations network and spokesperson experience for national and local outlets.
- Experience conducting media training for executives and subject experts.
- Strong understanding of current events, cultural trends, and media landscape.
- Excellent project management capabilities ensuring collaboration, prioritization, and adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Proficient with PowerPoint and possessing executive presence.
- Effective team and agency management skills and the ability to guide through change.
- Willingness to travel locally for onsite engagements to build relationships and source stories.
Work Schedule and Location
The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, based in either Warrenville, IL or Evanston, IL, with hybrid work flexibility. Occasional travel to other corporate locations as dictated by media requirements is expected.
Compensation
Hourly wages range from $51.47 to $79.78, established based on candidate expertise and years of professional experience.
