Role overview
Maybank Singapore is seeking a seasoned Credit Risk Review professional to carry out independent post-approval assessments across major banking segments. The position covers Global Banking, CMG, and Retail Banking, with additional exposure to sector-focused, special, and ad hoc reviews when specific risks or concerns arise.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake post-approval credit reviews for the bank’s main business lines, including Global Banking, CMG, and Retail Banking.
- Lead sector-wide reviews for selected industries, along with special and ad hoc reviews when emerging risk themes require attention.
- Work closely and proactively with business units and relevant stakeholders to keep the review process well coordinated and transparent.
- Deliver independent evaluations of adherence to credit policies and procedures.
- Assess the strength and effectiveness of credit underwriting standards.
- Review how well account management practices and governance structures support credit risk control.
- Spot control weaknesses, risk concerns, and improvement opportunities, then recommend practical steps to strengthen credit risk management.
- Follow up on agreed remediation actions and monitor progress through to completion by the responsible stakeholders.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or Business Administration.
- At least 15 years of experience in credit or lending.
- Background in corporate or commercial credit, especially with trade finance and working capital financing products.
- Understanding of credit underwriting practices and compliance or regulatory matters.
- Working knowledge of the bank’s credit policies and procedures.
