Senior Manager Development

Overview

Qatar Airways is looking for an experienced Senior Manager Development to spearhead the strategic planning, design, and execution of comprehensive airport infrastructure projects. The primary focus is to translate long-range objectives into practical development plans that expand capacity, enhance operational effectiveness, and improve passenger experience in line with the Airport Master Plan, regulatory requirements, and corporate strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate long-term airport infrastructure goals, aligning them with regulatory standards and organizational objectives.
• Assist in prioritizing and managing capital investment portfolios to ensure strategic alignment and financial viability.
• Prepare business cases, investment proposals, and risk evaluations for governance meetings to aid informed decision-making.
• Promote the integration of smart technologies, sustainable practices, and AI-enabled tools within development initiatives.
• Collaborate with diverse teams including engineering, operations, IT, finance, and commercial departments to ensure unified planning and execution.
• Engage regulatory authorities and external partners to guarantee compliance and synergy across projects.
• Oversee the end-to-end management of major infrastructure programs such as airside asset replacements, utilities upgrades, IT and baggage system improvements, landside projects, and stakeholder-driven initiatives.
• Structure projects into portfolios with clear KPIs, milestones, business cases, and benefit realization strategies.
• Track project outcomes, assess delivery risks, and ensure readiness is consistent with transformation and operational targets.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues promptly and integrate completed infrastructure into operations smoothly.
• Manage and mentor a team of Development Managers and Project Sponsors promoting accountability, continuous growth, and teamwork.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, Business Administration, or an associated discipline.
• At least 10 years of advanced experience in airport development or managing capital programs.
• Demonstrated success in directing large-scale capital projects within regulated settings.
• In-depth knowledge of airport systems, infrastructure master planning, capital expenditure governance, and lifecycle cost optimization.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and cross-department coordination.
• Proficient in project monitoring, risk mitigation, and communicating at executive levels.
• Experience implementing smart infrastructure solutions and sustainability initiatives in airport environments.
