Role Overview
The Senior Manager - Credit Risk is entrusted with protecting the company's financial assets by managing credit risk and preventing fraudulent activities. This key role involves formulating and executing risk strategies, performing detailed risk analysis, and working with multiple departments to uphold a dependable financial framework. This position is based at Tamara's Riyadh office.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and apply credit risk policies, guiding strategies and operational procedures.
- Evaluate applicant creditworthiness using credit scoring methodologies, credit reports, and financial assessments.
- Track and control credit exposure, delinquency, and overall portfolio health.
- Refine risk and pricing strategies continually to balance profitability with mitigating credit losses.
- Design and enforce fraud prevention frameworks and controls.
- Monitor transaction patterns and customer behavior to detect potential fraud.
- Investigate suspicious cases and coordinate with law enforcement if required.
- Stay informed on new fraud tactics and technological innovations.
- Leverage data analytics for identifying and assessing credit and fraud risks.
- Create regular reports and dashboards to update senior management on risk metrics and trends.
- Adopt data-driven approaches in decision-making processes.
- Assure alignment with all relevant financial laws and industry standards.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to address regulations concerning credit and fraud risk.
- Work alongside product, engineering, and customer support teams to embed risk management into product development and customer interactions.
- Advise on risk-related aspects during the creation of new products.
- Balance risk control efforts with delivering a smooth and positive customer experience.
- Communicate risk-related policies and actions to customers clearly and transparently.
Expertise and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications such as FRM or CFE are advantageous.
- At least eight years of experience managing credit risk and fraud prevention, with a preference for fintech sector background.
- Deep knowledge of credit scoring models, underwriting techniques, and fraud detection methods.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and risk modeling.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience using risk management software and analytical tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong analytical thinking with skill in converting data insights into practical risk actions.
- Detail-oriented and adept at problem-solving.
