About the role
This position offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully within a customer-centric business. You will apply your leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical problem-solving strengths as part of Datacom’s Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence in New Zealand.
As the Microsoft 365 Specialist, you will act as a senior technical escalation contact within the Microsoft 365 Centre of Excellence. The role is responsible for delivering an excellent experience to customers using modern workplace services, while also helping the business and customers adopt and continuously improve the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
The focus is on enabling Microsoft 365 outcomes that improve productivity for customers across data, file management, communications, collaboration, security, and identity and access management. The role is available across Datacom offices in New Zealand. To be considered, you must be a New Zealand citizen and live in New Zealand.
Key technical exposure
- Microsoft identity platforms and administration, including Azure AD, AD Connect, ADFS, and Microsoft Identity Manager
- Modern collaboration tools within the Microsoft 365 suite, such as Teams, Planner, Groups, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Yammer
- Video conferencing and collaboration ecosystems, including Teams and related tools such as Poly, Cisco, and Zoom
- Awareness of competing solutions across similar workplace platforms
- Email protection and archiving tools, including Office 365 ATP/EOP, Mimecast, and Avepoint
What you will bring
You should have prior experience in an ICT professional services environment and substantial hands-on expertise as a Microsoft 365 engineer. Strong capability in the following areas is expected:
- Administration of Exchange Online mailboxes
- Exchange Online Protection
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive for Business
- Azure AD identity administration, including users, security groups, distribution groups, Microsoft 365 groups, devices, and guest users
- Azure AD Connect and related authentication methods such as Password Hash Sync, Pass-through Authentication, Seamless SSO, ADFS, Azure MFA, and SSPR
