Role Overview
We are looking for a Learning Design Specialist or Senior Specialist to continuously refine and enhance BCG U’s learning content. The role focuses on maintaining relevance, engagement, and alignment with client requirements and modern learning best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep custom learning solutions updated to reflect evolving business priorities and current trends.
- Design instructional materials such as self-paced modules, masterclasses, role-plays, and simulations using evidence-based learning and behavior change methods.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and external vendors to co-create high-quality training content.
- Provide assistance in standardizing, customizing, and upgrading curricula and learning materials across programs.
Core Competencies
- Convert complex business and role-specific needs into targeted, outcome-driven learning approaches.
- Identify skill deficiencies and develop learner-centered solutions grounded in behavioral science and adult learning theories.
- Design engaging learning journeys that promote knowledge retention and practical application on the job.
- Oversee full learning design projects, from initial scoping and stakeholder coordination through prototyping to delivery.
- Create dynamic digital content using e-learning authoring software, video editing tools, and graphic design platforms.
- Develop interactive formats including simulations, videos, and infographics that enhance content impact.
- Prepare facilitators and client teams with clear enablement materials to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
Candidate Profile
- 4 to 6 years of experience in instructional design.
- Strong understanding of adult learning science.
- Experience designing curriculums, assessments, and varied learning formats including Instructor Led Training (ILT), Virtual ILT (VILT), Web-based training, Micro-learning, and social learning.
- Excellent skills in reviewing learning deliverables with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build effective relationships with SMEs and vendor partners.
- Exposure to international markets and cross-cultural environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Slack, Trello or similar project management tools.
- Practical experience using generative AI technologies.
- Consulting background working with cross-functional client teams to diagnose needs, design scalable solutions, and deliver impactful advisory services.
Collaboration and Work Environment
- Work embedded within client-facing case teams as the learning design expert, collaborating with consultants and stakeholders to implement capability-building solutions that drive business results.
- Engage with senior leadership at BCG for subject matter expertise, feedback, and masterclass delivery.
- Coordinate with BCG U leadership and knowledge teams for guidance and content acquisition.
- Partner with instructional design vendors and internal/external experts.
