About the Opportunity
Our client is a premier national law firm seeking a Senior Associate within its prestigious Insurance practice based in Sydney, specialising in Historical Abuse Claims. This role provides a chance to become part of a highly esteemed team providing counsel to insurers, government bodies, religious organisations, and educational institutions on intricate and sensitive personal injury matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a complex portfolio involving historical abuse and sensitive personal injury claims.
- Advise clients on liability, damages assessments, litigation strategies, and dispute resolutions.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of complex factual and evidentiary challenges.
- Draft pleadings, legal submissions, witness statements, and deliver strategic advice.
- Represent clients through litigation processes including mediation and negotiations, and engage Counsel when necessary.
- Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with insurers, governmental stakeholders, and institutional clients.
- Guide and mentor junior legal staff contributing to practice development and growth.
Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years of post-admission experience in defendant insurance litigation or personal injury law.
- Proven expertise handling historical abuse or other sensitive personal injury claims.
- In-depth understanding of civil litigation procedures and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Strong abilities in legal analysis, drafting, and advocacy.
- Track record of managing complex legal matters independently while providing commercially minded advice.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring acumen, and strong client relationship skills.
- Collaborative mindset with a dedication to outstanding client service.
