Job description
Role Overview
Joining Auckland City Mission as a Senior Key Worker within the Supportive Housing team, you will play a crucial leadership role by guiding, mentoring, and training fellow Key Workers. You will also participate in service meetings at the HomeGround facility to ensure coordination and quality of support services.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Supportive Housing Manager and Team Leader in delivering top-quality services and promoting collaborative, innovative, and professional practices.
- Handle a caseload of whānau residing at HomeGround, overseeing case reviews, client file audits, and health evaluations.
- Employ trauma-informed and harm-reduction strategies to help clients maintain stable tenancies.
- Create and implement improved processes, forms, and practices to enhance Supportive Housing services.
- Keep thorough and confidential records, meet key performance indicators, and ensure client privacy is protected.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant tertiary education, preferably in social work, mental health, or addictions.
- Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Auckland City Mission’s core values of Manaakitanga, Atawhai, Rangapū, Mana Tika, and Mana Ōrite.
- Proven experience working with complex client needs such as trauma, mental health, addiction, poverty, and homelessness, alongside managing extensive caseloads.
- Strong initiative and ability to navigate both formal and informal processes effectively.
- Possession of a valid full New Zealand driver’s license.
Experience and knowledge can be acquired through various channels including paid roles, volunteering, community involvement, or leadership within marae, iwi, whānau, or church settings.
