About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner for a 12-month maternity cover contract. This senior strategic position supports leaders across a complex, multi-site organization. Reporting directly to the Head of HR, this role involves partnering closely with senior management to align HR strategies with business goals, aid organizational change, and implement initiatives that improve engagement, performance, and operational effectiveness. The role includes managing two direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to devise and execute HR plans that support organizational objectives.
- Provide expert guidance on workforce and succession planning as well as organizational development.
- Assist management through change management initiatives in a structured and practical manner.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for complex employee relations, performance issues, and engagement challenges.
- Identify avenues to boost business outcomes through strategic people management.
- Lead complex employee relations cases, including investigations and disciplinary processes.
- Coach managers in performance management and development strategies.
- Ensure adherence to employment law and company policies.
- Promote a culture emphasizing accountability, fairness, and ongoing improvement.
- Work alongside Learning and Development to address skill gaps.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives that enhance retention and promote inclusion.
- Support leadership development and succession planning activities.
- Facilitate talent review and workforce planning efforts.
- Provide insights and HR analytics to inform business decisions.
- Track key HR metrics such as turnover, engagement, and performance trends.
- Assist in refining HR policies, procedures, and systems for continuous improvement.
- Stay informed on market trends and HR best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, HR teams, and other business units.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, and Reward departments.
- Contribute to wider HR projects and organizational initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in a senior HR Business Partner or advisory role within a large, multi-site or complex organization.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations, and HR best practices.
- Experience with organizational development, change management, and talent management initiatives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage HR data for decision-making.
- Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based sectors is advantageous.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
