Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner to act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership teams within Legal, People, and Finance (G&A) departments. This role involves shaping organizational design, talent development, and cultural initiatives that align with the needs of a dynamic and fast-growing support function. The ideal candidate will have extensive HR knowledge, excellent business acumen, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders in complex and evolving environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR counsel to G&A leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategies that align with business objectives.
- Manage complex performance issues, including coaching senior leaders through improvement plans, difficult discussions, and terminations, collaborating closely with Legal as needed.
- Lead change management efforts during restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions and maintaining employee trust.
- Partner on succession planning, talent calibration, and development programs for high-potential employees within the client group.
- Leverage data and people analytics to diagnose challenges and recommend proactive HR interventions.
- Represent the G&A client group in enterprise-wide HR programs such as performance cycles, compensation planning, and engagement strategies.
- Coach managers at all levels on leadership skills, feedback culture, and core people management practices.
- Collaborate with the Talent team on headcount planning and workforce strategy.
- Exercise sound discretion when handling sensitive employee relations, escalating issues when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience, including over 3 years as an HR Business Partner supporting senior leaders (Director level and above), preferably in Legal, People, or Finance.
- Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience with AI tools in HR processes such as automation, data insights, or piloting AI-driven solutions; proven ability to lead teams through AI-enabled changes.
- Strong expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
- Ability to independently manage sensitive or high-stakes situations with senior leaders, maintaining legal compliance and partnership with Legal counsel.
- Knowledgeable about employment law, performance management methodologies, and best HR practices.
- Experience utilizing workforce data and analytics to inform leadership decisions and strategic recommendations.
- Exemplary judgment, confidentiality, and executive-level communication skills.
- Familiarity with Workday is required; experience with Culture Amp is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary range for San Francisco, CA: $165,000 - $194,000 USD annually.
