The role blends creative leadership with direct production work. You will shape video strategy, manage a team of producers, and help create high-impact content that combines strong reporting, sharp editing, audience data, and new technology. The work spans social and owned platforms and is aimed at engaging a large sports audience while advancing the future of digital sports media.
Key accountabilities
- Direct the creative direction, planning, and delivery of premium video projects, turning sports highlights, analysis, and narrative storytelling into formats designed for each platform.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a strong team of video producers, encouraging collaboration, quality, and ongoing skill growth.
- Build and protect a consistent visual language and editorial tone across all video output while upholding high production value and journalistic standards.
- Work closely with commercial, editorial, product, and revenue stakeholders to design content strategies that support audience expansion and business goals without compromising editorial independence.
- Use performance data and audience insights to refine video formats, improve engagement, and optimize distribution across social and owned channels.
- Track new social trends, platform changes, AI tools, and production technologies, and bring useful innovations into the workflow.
- Provide hands-on production support when needed, including launching new content initiatives, assisting with breaking news coverage, and guiding experimental video projects.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in social video production, digital media, sports content creation, or a closely related area, with clear evidence of audience growth.
- Proven experience leading creative teams and steering video production strategy at scale.
- Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects, plus practical shooting experience with DSLR cameras or advanced mobile production gear.
- Solid knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and similar platforms, including audience-building tactics, algorithm behavior, and emerging content formats.
- Strong editorial judgment with the ability to balance growth objectives and content credibility.
- Experience using analytics, performance reporting, AI-assisted production tools, and data visualization methods to improve content results.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, project coordination, and organizational abilities in a fast-moving media setting.
- Genuine interest in sports storytelling, digital innovation, and creating standout audience experiences across multiple channels.
Benefits and compensation
- Annual base pay of $120,000 to $140,000, depending on experience, skills, education, and location.
- Potential eligibility for additional compensation, including an annual bonus and restricted stock, subject to role specifics.
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
- 401(k) plan with company matching.
- Paid vacation, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave.
- Tuition reimbursement and professional development support.
- Chance to work with a collaborative team focused on innovation and premium digital storytelling.
Application and hiring process

A matching process is used to evaluate applicants against the role’s core requirements, and the strongest matches are forwarded to the hiring employer. Final decisions, interviews, and assessments are handled by the employer’s internal team.
