Job description
About the Role
Join Puffy, a leading direct-to-consumer brand and one of the top 5 mattress brands in the U.S. with over $1 billion in sales, as the Senior Director of Performance Marketing. This role offers full responsibility for managing a multi-million-dollar monthly advertising budget across Google and Meta platforms. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take charge of systems, measurement frameworks, creative testing, capital allocation, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Increase revenue from a substantial monthly ad spend while maintaining contribution margin after returns and financing costs.
- Allocate capital based on true incremental return, not just platform-reported ROAS, applying a contribution-margin-focused strategy.
- Develop and document operational rules for budget decisions such as when to pause, scale, or reduce spend, ensuring these systems operate independent of daily executive input.
- Construct an automated, scalable marketing engine including geo-holdout incrementality testing and creative testing processes.
- Design comprehensive promotional and capital allocation strategies aligned with the retail calendar.
- Research and pilot emerging paid advertising channels beyond the dominant platforms.
- Lead organizational design related to performance marketing, with CEO approval.
Required Qualifications
- At least six years of experience in performance marketing with proven ownership of $1 million+ monthly spends on both Meta and Google platforms.
- Advanced expertise in Google Performance Max campaigns including feed optimization and brand versus non-brand economics.
- Experience marketing high average order value (AOV) products ($1,000+) such as furniture, jewelry, or home fitness with long purchase decision cycles.
- Proven ability to build and manage bid, budget, and pause decision systems at scale, able to present an authored playbook.
- Strong statistical decision making skills including volume gating, threshold setting, and incrementality test design.
- Experience with scalable creative testing frameworks post-ATT and analytic methodologies for creative effectiveness.
- Established leadership skills managing senior direct reports and capable of building or restructuring marketing teams.
- Structured methodology for new channel evaluation including pilot design and criteria for budget allocation and termination.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency with scripting and automation for Meta and Google Ads platforms.
- Experience working in both agency and in-house contexts.
- Familiarity with emerging advertising formats such as TikTok, Connected TV, and affiliate/partnership marketing.
- Background in D2C e-commerce for home goods or comparable high-AOV vertical markets.
Work Culture and Values
- Ownership mindset with accountability for results over activities.
- Decisive and urgent execution in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
- Commitment to excellence, solving difficult challenges and innovating beyond norms.
- AI-first approach utilizing advanced AI tools and analytics daily.
- Collaboration and unity in pursuit of company goals.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual compensation up to $240,000 USD including a base salary up to $200,000 USD plus monthly performance bonuses up to 20%.
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance depending on country of hire.
- Generous paid leave including paid time off and public holidays.
- Flexible remote work arrangement with options to relocate to Dubai headquarters with visa and tax support.
- Access to cutting-edge AI tools and a collaborative international team spanning over 14 nationalities.
- Recognition programs for leadership and outstanding contributions including wellness memberships and leadership retreats.
