Role Overview
The Senior Director of Finance & Strategic Growth will be instrumental in guiding the company through its subsequent expansion stages. This leadership role blends corporate finance, strategic foresight, mergers and acquisitions, capital fundraising, banking relations, and construction project financing. Reporting directly to the CEO and executive team, this position focuses on boosting enterprise value, exploring growth avenues, enhancing financial outcomes, and delivering financial leadership needed to scale a dynamic construction and consulting enterprise serving the data center industry. This role transcends traditional controller or accounting leadership by acting as a strategic partner on acquisitions, capital structure, banking relations, project profitability, cash flow management, and growth initiatives while ensuring robust financial and project accounting oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise CEO and executives on strategic, operational, and financial matters.
- Lead long-term financial planning, capital allocation, and value creation strategies.
- Create financial models for growth plans, geographic expansion, new services, and market opportunities.
- Provide high-level financial analyses to guide company objectives.
- Participate actively in EOS Level 10 meetings and leadership planning.
- Collaborate with business leaders to evaluate and financially support new products, services, and business lines ensuring profitable market entries.
- Identify and pursue acquisitions aligned with growth goals, leading due diligence, valuation, transaction modeling, and integration.
- Coordinate with investment bankers, legal, and advisory firms during transactions.
- Develop post-acquisition integration and financial reporting plans.
- Evaluate strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and corporate development options.
- Design and implement debt and equity capital raising strategies.
- Assess financing options supporting growth, acquisitions, and working capital.
- Prepare presentations and materials for lenders, investors, and capital partners.
- Manage and negotiate relationships with banks, lenders, and financial service providers to secure credit facilities, bonds, and treasury services.
- Lead annual financing reviews and ensure compliance with lender covenants and reporting.
- Oversee project accounting functions to monitor job costing, WIP reporting, cash flow forecasts, and profitability.
- Work closely with operations to enhance project-level financial results and develop tools for improved financial decision-making.
- Manage contract billing, change orders, revenue recognition, and project control processes.
- Direct budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, and governance to meet GAAP and tax standards.
- Oversee auditors, tax advisors, and accounting relationships while building and leading a strong finance and accounting team.
Qualifications
- Over 10 years of advancing experience in finance leadership roles.
- Extensive background in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or industries based on projects.
- Expertise in construction-oriented accounting including job costing, WIP, and forecasting.
- Experience managing banking relationships and cash management.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership for strategic financial guidance.
- Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on involvement in mergers and acquisitions leadership or support.
- Proven track record in sourcing debt and equity capital.
- Experience with private equity-backed, founder-led, or rapidly scaling companies.
- Professional credentials such as CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
- Industry experience in data center, mission critical, industrial construction, or EPC sectors.
- Capability in integrating acquired firms and expanding finance teams.
