Position Summary

The Senior Director, Experiential Revenue and Operations spearheads cross-functional efforts to define and execute the organization's long-term commercial vision. This involves reinventing the experiential offerings, building new commercial assets, designing sales strategies and financial models, and delivering engaging solutions for fans and Olympic and Paralympic stakeholders.

This role centers on establishing a commercial framework and revenue strategies to monetize the current experiential portfolio and crafting new market assets and approaches that meet evolving needs of fans, National Governing Bodies (NGBs), donors, athletes, and alumni. Responsibilities include developing ticketing and hospitality programs for events such as Trials and Games, fan engagement platforms throughout the four-year Olympic cycle, and athlete experiences.

Exploration of novel commercial revenue channels to transform the experiential practice into a profit center is a critical focus. The ideal candidate blends sales expertise, financial savvy, innovation enthusiasm, and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional team to create and implement an experiential commercial framework.
  • Develop business cases, scenario planning, and financial models with finance partners to validate ROI on investments that enhance and expand experiential offerings.
  • Design flagship experiential platforms and drive integrated monetization strategies across media, digital, broadcast, and direct-to-consumer channels.
  • Manage the experiential budget team and oversee all portfolio P&Ls.
  • Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to tailor experiential initiatives that uniquely support their goals.
  • Create compelling value propositions for diverse audiences including athletes, alumni, donors, fans, and NGBs.
  • Develop seamless ticketing and hospitality strategies spanning flame-to-flame timelines.
  • Scout for new revenue streams, expansion possibilities, and product offerings through continuous market and global sports trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with finance on investment opportunity analysis and lead KPI measurement and reporting for the experiential portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media, Sport Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in sports marketing, sports commercial strategy, experiential marketing, ticketing, and hospitality.
  • In-depth understanding of sports industry trends and landscape nuances.
  • Proven leadership in managing large agency teams.
  • Experience delivering high-end hospitality and client entertainment programs.
  • Strong familiarity with scaling ticketing programs.
  • Excellent skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and contract negotiations.
  • Strategic commercial leadership capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical and performance measurement competencies.
  • Expertise in cross-cultural stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Relationship-focused with a strong commitment to innovation and creativity.
  • Preferred knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic movement.

Additional Information

  • Utilization of standard office equipment is required.
  • Position involves domestic and international travel.
  • Occasional non-traditional hours including nights and weekends are expected.
  • Consistent attendance is essential.

Work Location

This is a fully remote position.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $165,000 - $175,000.
  • Full-time, exempt role with a 40-hour workweek expectation.
  • Eligible for an Annual Incentive Award Program with a 20% target, subject to change at the organization's discretion.
