Job description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for leading the day-to-day administration and operational work of the Correspondent Banking & Control unit. The role supports efficient service for overseas clients and covers account setup for settlement purposes, AML review coordination, due diligence for correspondent banking ties, and assistance with the review of suspicious activity and financial institution transaction checks.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the complete onboarding flow for Nostro, Vostro, and RMA relationships.
- Handle the full onboarding process for RMA relationships.
- Oversee onboarding activities for NBFI relationships.
- Manage onboarding for brokerage relationships.
- Carry out annual AML due diligence reviews across all active relationships.
- Onboard relationships required by Doha Finance Limited and DB Securities Limited.
- Reply to incoming KYC requests on behalf of Doha Bank Q.P.S.C., Doha Finance Limited, and DB Securities Limited.
- Work with internal teams to ensure counterparties receive accurate and complete responses to KYC queries.
- Perform KYC screening on banks and other counterparties involved in financial institution transactions.
- Set up and maintain existing Master Risk Participation Agreements (MRPAs).
- Manage the full process for creating and revising MRPAs with global counterparties.
- Coordinate with Head Office Finance on budget preparation for vendor payments related to online subscriptions.
- Oversee IBG-related subscriptions with external providers, including service renewal coordination and payment follow-up with the finance team.
- Prepare rebate reporting for monthly MIS.
- Coordinate with major Nostro providers to improve revenue share returns on Doha Bank transactions.
- Work with Nostro providers and assist the Finance Reconciliation team so that outstanding items are cleared within 30 days.
- Ensure the Wolfsberg CBDDQ submitted for Doha Bank each year is accurate.
- Manage the end-to-end response process for RFIs from counterparties.
- Support responses to internal audit queries.
- Support responses to compliance audit queries.
- Support responses to QCB audit queries.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in banking or financial services, particularly in correspondent banking and international banking.
- Good understanding of service delivery standards, correspondent banking operations, and financial institution transactions.
- Working knowledge of accounting systems, financial statements, and operational risk controls.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong background in correspondent banking and international banking relationships.
- Clear communication skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
- Ability to manage several priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Familiarity with AML rules and compliance procedures.
