Job description
Role Objective
Doha Bank is recruiting a seasoned Compliance Officer & Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for its UAE branch in Dubai. This critical position, reporting directly to the Country Compliance Officer & MLRO, ensures the branch complies fully with all relevant regulatory and anti-money laundering standards within the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing the Compliance Monitoring Plan.
- Work alongside the MLRO to detect, escalate, and report suspicious transactions adhering to regulatory mandates.
- Keep abreast of regulatory updates including those from CBUAE, FATF, ESR, and AML-CFT, and facilitate timely adoption of necessary controls.
- Provide support for both internal and external audits, along with regulatory examinations.
- Evaluate new products, services, and business ventures for compliance and AML/CFT risks.
- Organize and deliver training sessions to enhance compliance awareness among branch personnel.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, internal teams, and group compliance units.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 10 years in banking compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory risk roles, including a minimum of 3 years within the UAE market.
- Demonstrable expertise with CBUAE frameworks, AML/CFT legislation, FATF standards, and sanctions adherence.
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; a master's degree is an asset.
- Preferred possession of certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), ICA, or their equivalents.
- Excellent analysis, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Exemplary integrity, self-reliance, and meticulous attention to detail.
