Overview
Air New Zealand invites an experienced Senior Commercial Product Manager to lead the commercial direction and performance of its ecommerce platforms and digital customer experiences. This key position plays a vital role at the crossroad of travel, commerce, digital innovation, and customer experience, fostering seamless ways for customers to discover, book, and manage travel with Air New Zealand.
Role Summary
The individual will be responsible for defining and executing the direct ecommerce commercial strategy, performance metrics, and growth roadmap. Tasks include steering the evolution of owned digital channels in line with advancing technologies and customer expectations, encompassing emerging innovations like AI-driven shopping.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the commercial strategy and growth plans for Air New Zealand's direct ecommerce platforms.
- Convert strategic goals into actionable, value-based roadmaps prioritizing opportunities that enhance revenue, conversion rates, margins, and customer value.
- Apply a commercial mindset by leveraging data insights, experimentation, and behavioral analysis to guide product prioritization and trade-offs.
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams and across organizational units to align vision, dependencies, and delivery schedules ensuring customer and commercial success.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated leadership in commercial product management with a focus on ecommerce or digital commerce platforms.
- Strong strategic thinking, innovation, and practical delivery experience at a senior level with aptitude in stakeholder management and ambiguity navigation.
- Proven track record enhancing ecommerce metrics such as revenue, conversion, retention, and customer value through targeted initiatives.
- In-depth understanding of ecommerce systems, digital funnels, user behavior, merchandising, optimization, experimentation, and performance evaluation.
- Experience in crafting product strategies, commercial roadmaps, business cases, and investment proposals.
- Ability to use data and insights effectively to drive decision-making and demonstrate results.
- Capacity to lead complex cross-functional projects in large organizations and work with external partners or vendors to achieve commercial objectives.
- Excellent communication skills including narrative building and credible influence with senior leadership and diverse stakeholders.
- Prior experience in travel, airline, or tourism sectors is desirable but not obligatory.
