We are seeking a Senior Claims Negotiator to join our team in Kingston, Jamaica. This position involves managing complex insurance claims, negotiating settlements, and delivering excellent service to maintain our outstanding company reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage claims for assigned accounts with efficiency and compliance to set guidelines.
- Analyze claims reports and ensure complete documentation by coordinating with claimants.
- Inform clients about their policy details, claim procedures, and status updates.
- Coordinate with assessors and adjusters to secure timely report submissions.
- Engage with insurance companies to expedite claims and finalize negotiated settlements.
- Ensure thorough documentation, accurate claim registration, and prompt delivery of claims forms and payments.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, insurers, legal representatives, and other involved parties.
- Keep clients and internal teams informed about claim progress, settlements, and recoveries.
- Participate in client meetings to provide claim updates and offer guidance before policy renewals.
- Handle recoveries by scheduling follow-ups, negotiating with third parties and insurers, and closing out files for completed or nonviable recovery cases.
- Prepare comprehensive claims status reports for management and clients, including monthly claims experience data.
- Support team efforts by mentoring junior staff and assisting in correspondence and report generation.
- Conduct site visits for major claims and meet insurers to address outstanding claim issues when required.
- Adhere strictly to professional standards, company ethics, and customer service charters to maintain departmental integrity.
Candidate Profile
- Proven ability to process claims effectively and accurately.
- Advanced analytical thinking and strong negotiation capabilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to manage interpersonal relationships.
- Knowledge of underwriting concepts and insurance brokerage operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Competent with computer applications including document preparation and data management.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline is mandatory.
- Professional qualifications such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent certification are highly regarded.
- Minimum of five years general experience in insurance claims with at least three years in brokerage settings.
