Role Overview
The Portfolio Specialist functions within the CIO Lab team, which implements the CIO's portfolio and investment strategies by serving as the central platform translating the CIO's direction into client portfolios across various wealth segments. This role acts as the analytical engine responsible for delivering institutional-quality portfolio diagnostics, asset allocation insights, and client-oriented portfolio solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide core execution of CIO Lab Analytics including comprehensive portfolio diagnostics, risk assessment, scenario analyses, asset allocation design, and client-facing portfolio repositioning analyses.
- Convert analytical results into accessible and actionable advice that supports client engagement and portfolio decision-making.
- Contribute to developing and refining analytical tools and frameworks such as stress testing methods, portfolio diagnostics, and optimization techniques.
- Assist in managing complex UHNW and Family Office portfolios, including performing portfolio evaluation and restructuring.
- Identify portfolio-related opportunities to enhance client outcomes and assist in asset accumulation and mandate creation.
- Support customized advisory mandates through monitoring portfolio positioning, risk management, and ensuring alignment with CIO strategies.
- Assist in portfolio reviews, rebalancing activities, and continuous optimization efforts.
- Promote the transition of CIO Lab Analytics engagements into mandate relationships to support revenue growth.
- Participate in client meetings to present portfolio findings and strategies when necessary.
- Support the deployment of CIO-aligned Model Portfolios including analysis of deviations and assist with the execution of CIO Insights by applying CIO views to client portfolios.
- Help refine model frameworks and portfolio implementation methods to enhance usability and effectiveness for front office teams.
- Ensure integration and consistency of CIO Lab portfolio outputs across all product lines under a unified CIO framework.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in tools, data, and processes to increase scalability, reliability, and usability for front office staff.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in portfolio management, asset allocation, risk assessment, and portfolio analytics.
- Extensive knowledge working with multi-asset portfolios or mandate-based solutions, particularly servicing UHNW clients, Family Offices, or institutional investors.
- Proven track record presenting client-facing portfolio insights and making investment recommendations.
- Familiarity with portfolio analytics platforms such as Aladdin or similar tools is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline required; an MBA, CFA, or comparable advanced qualification is preferred.
