Food Counter Attendant

Job Overview

This is a permanent full-time position based in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, where English is the primary workplace language. The job involves working 40 hours per week in a fast-paced food service environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness by clearing tables, trays, and chairs regularly.
• Package take-out orders efficiently and accurately.
• Portion, wrap, and prepare simple food items including heating and finishing dishes.
• Serve customers at counters or buffet stations professionally.
• Restock refrigerators and salad bars as needed.
• Take and process customer orders promptly.
• Utilize both manual and electric kitchen appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim food products.
• Ensure kitchen sanitation standards by cleaning work surfaces, cupboards, storage spaces, appliances, and equipment.
• Remove waste through proper kitchen garbage and trash disposal.
• Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing.
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruits.

Work Shifts

Employment covers a range of shift options including early morning, morning, day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Experience and Education

A secondary (high school) graduation certificate is required. Previous experience is considered a beneficial asset but not mandatory.
