Job description
Overview
This role is a permanent position based in Trail, British Columbia, requiring full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. The working language is English. No prior educational qualifications or experience are required as on-the-job training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness by bringing clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and setting tables.
- Handle linen replacement and manage sanitary conditions of equipment such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste units.
- Clear and sanitize tables, trays, and chairs swiftly and efficiently.
- Operate dishwashers and hand-wash dishes, including scouring pots and pans where needed.
- Manage stocking duties for condiments, refrigerators, and salad bars as well as replenishing supplies at various serving locations.
- Prepare and serve simple food items, taking customer orders at counters or buffet setups.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by cleaning work areas, cupboards, appliances, and handling cleaning products safely.
- Receive, unpack, and organize supplies in appropriate storage areas including refrigerators and freezers.
- Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately and maintain overall sanitation standards.
- Operate kitchen machinery such as conventional ovens, deep fryers, electronic cash registers, food dispensers, and grills.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 23 kg, standing for extended periods, and working under fast-paced conditions.
- Sharpen kitchen knives and handle food preparation such as washing, peeling, slicing, and trimming vegetables and fruits.
