Job Overview

This permanent position as a Food Counter Attendant is based in Elie, Manitoba, operating primarily in English within a rural environment. Candidates will engage in various food service and cleaning activities to support restaurant operations effectively.

Primary Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing dishwasher mats, carts, waste units, kitchen surfaces, cupboards, and appliances.
  • Clear and clean dining areas including tables, trays, and chairs, and manage waste disposal.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment and organize cleaned dishes in storage.
  • Replenish supplies such as condiments at tables and buffet stations.
  • Package food for take-out orders, prepare simple food items by heating and finishing, and serve customers at counters or buffet setups.
  • Stock refrigerators, salad bars, and storage areas with appropriate food items and supplies.
  • Take customer orders and operate cash register efficiently.
  • Handle receipt, unpacking, and storing of supplies in kitchen storage facilities.
  • Perform floor maintenance with sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing tasks.

Work Environment and Physical Expectations

The role exists in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure setting involving repetitive tasks and extended periods of standing. The job requires attention to detail and the ability to consistently handle weights up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds).
