Senior Civil Engineer - Airport Projects

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer with extensive expertise to oversee and guide the design and construction of civil and structural works for airport projects. This role requires ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety protocols, and international building standards, acting as a technical authority throughout both design and construction supervision phases. The position is based in Al-Jawf Region, Saudi Arabia.

Key Duties

• Develop and scrutinize design documents including drawings, calculations, and technical specs covering structural components and infrastructure.
• Verify and review structural elements such as foundations, columns, beams, slabs, and retaining walls plus infrastructure related to roads, drainage, water, sewage, and grading.
• Ensure designs align with project criteria and regulatory requirements including ACI, AISC, BS, SBC, ASTM codes.
• Calculate loads, conduct structural analyses, and perform quantity estimations.
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams for integrated design execution.
• Approve contractors' shop drawings and material submissions.
• Supervise on-site civil and structural work to maintain compliance and quality standards.
• Inspect excavation, foundation, concrete placement, steel structures, finishing works, and infrastructure installation.
• Track workmanship quality, material use, and project timelines; issue site observations and non-conformance reports and ensure rectification.
• Engage in site coordination meetings involving contractors, subcontractors, and clients.
• Assist project management in planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and claim evaluation related to civil works.
• Prepare technical and progress reports; ensure safety and environmental standards are observed onsite.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit Structure for BIM, STAAD Pro/ETABS/SAP2000 for structural analysis.
• Experience with SAFE for slab/foundation design and CSI Columns/Prokon for reinforced concrete and steel design validation.
• Competent in Microsoft Office for project documentation and reporting.

Standards and Regulations

• Familiarity with international design codes including ACI, AISC, ASTM, BS, SBC, ISO.
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabian authorities' regulations including Municipality, Ministry of Transport, National Water Company, Civil Defense.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification mandatory.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience, with minimum 5 years as Consultant Airports Project Manager within the Gulf.
• Proven capabilities in scheduling, risk assessment, and contract management.
• Strong leadership, effective communication skills, and organizational efficiency.
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
• Valid Saudi residency (Iqama) and driving license mandatory for non-Saudis.
• Immediate availability with all necessary documents and experience certifications.
