Senior Category Sourcing Manager - Dairy Ingredients

About the Role

As the Senior Category Sourcing Manager for Dairy Ingredients based in Singapore, you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies covering Milk Powders such as Skimmed Milk Powder (SMP), Whole Milk Powder (WMP), Skimmed Milk Concentrate (SMC), and Base Powders for Danone's operations across the APAC region. This involves managing the end-to-end procurement process including tendering, negotiations, allocation, consumption tracking, and financial oversight that encompasses market variations and productivity initiatives.

You will ensure continuous and reliable supply of milk powders, manage costs effectively, mitigate risks via dual sourcing and contingency planning, and uphold quality and sustainability standards. Your role includes collaborating with cross-functional teams like Research & Innovation, Quality, Operations, Regulatory, and Project Management to enhance efficiency and secure supply chains.

Part of your responsibilities is to develop market risk management recommendations based on evidence and market intelligence, support the strategy implementation, and steer supplier relationship management aligned with both regional and global procurement directives. You will be the key communication link between global dairy ingredient procurement teams and regional stakeholders, coordinating regular business reviews and addressing strategic business needs promptly.

Your leadership will extend to pioneering regional flagship projects that push Danone's procurement capabilities forward, while managing escalation of critical issues with suppliers and internal teams. This role demands active engagement with business units and frequent supplier meetings.

Candidate Profile

• Proven enthusiasm for procurement roles in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
• Strong, preferably extensive expertise in Dairy Ingredients procurement within FMCG or food industry contexts.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in strategic procurement, including roles at global, regional, and local business levels.
• Pragmatic and hands-on approach balanced with strategic thinking capabilities.
• Ability to handle complexity and ambiguity with persistence and resilience.
• Value-driven mindset passionate about the FMCG and healthcare nutrition sectors.
• Sound understanding of business operations, financial impacts, and analytical skills.
• Excellent project management capabilities and experience working within cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel extensively to engage suppliers and business unit leaders in person.
