Job description

About the Role

LinkedIn is hiring a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support finance operations across Source to Pay and Record to Report. The position is based in Bengaluru and follows a hybrid work model, with time split between home and a LinkedIn office depending on team and business needs.

In this role, you will join the Business Applications team and help shape, support, and improve financial systems. The focus will be on converting business needs into workable system solutions, drafting detailed design documents, and maintaining application standards and best practices for systems of varying complexity.

You will collaborate with global and regional process owners, business process analysts, SMEs, engineering teams, and Business Applications leadership to identify needs, deliver new capabilities, solve issues, and ensure smooth adoption of processes and systems. The role also involves building a strong understanding of business priorities, supporting cross-functional finance initiatives, and contributing to alignment between business strategy and IT direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on functional support for Oracle R12 EBS users in Record to Report and Source to Pay areas, including GL, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Procurement, Supplier Management, Accounts Payable, and related customizations and interfaces.
  • Help business users diagnose and resolve issues ranging from basic to highly complex, and suggest practical solutions that support operations.
  • Design future-state functional processes, identify gaps in requirements or systems, and recommend appropriate fixes or enhancements. Present designs for review and secure stakeholder approval.
  • Work with technical teams to convert functional requirements into technical implementation plans.
  • Assist with project planning and delivery by estimating effort, managing risks, resolving issues, and supporting closure activities.
  • Lead small to mid-sized projects when required.
  • Conduct knowledge-sharing and training sessions for business and application teams to support new functionality and adoption.
  • Prepare and run unit tests, and take part in system testing, regression testing, CRP, and UAT to confirm the solution meets business expectations.
  • Draft and validate configuration documents such as BR100, and configure systems to align with business requirements.
  • Follow SOX and compliance requirements in all work performed.
  • Track how well systems, processes, and policies are working, and recommend improvements to strengthen efficiency and SLA performance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of month-end and year-end close activities and the ongoing support of Oracle ERP systems, including associated interfaces.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members, both verbally and in writing, while explaining technical or functional topics clearly.

Requirements

  • A BA/BS degree is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience supporting and implementing Oracle applications in a customer-facing role, specifically in Record to Report and Source to Pay.
  • Strong practical experience with Oracle Financials / Oracle E-Business Suite, including EB-Tax, Approvals Management Engine (AME), Cash Management, and GL.
  • Experience working with SOX controls, compliance, and change management for business systems.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle table structures, schemas, and open interfaces, along with the ability to write basic SQL scripts.
  • Experience defining functional designs for custom solutions, conversions, and integrations.
  • Background in delivering financial projects within Oracle applications.
  • Ability to identify business problems and propose automation-based solutions.
  • Preferred: experience supporting Source to Pay and Record to Report systems.
  • Preferred: ability to work with engineering and finance teams and translate requirements across functions.
  • Preferred: experience integrating external systems such as Coupa for data exchange and process automation.
  • Preferred: degree or professional certification in accounting or a related field.
  • Preferred: experience supporting global regions.
  • Preferred: knowledge of project management practices and standard testing methodologies in Oracle environments.
  • Preferred: solid understanding of taxation, statutory reporting, and Oracle table structures.
  • Preferred: strong communication, collaboration, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred: working knowledge of Oracle Fusion ERP is an added advantage.
