Role Summary
We seek an experienced Senior Business Partner in People & Culture to collaborate closely with executive and business leaders, particularly within creative and product-related teams such as Creative, Product Development, Merchandising, and Brand. This role is critical in shaping a high-performing workplace by aligning HR strategies with business goals, fostering positive employee relations, and guiding organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executives to align people strategies with business objectives.
- Advise and coach leaders on performance, development, employee relations, and organizational health.
- Lead workforce planning, organizational design, and scaling efforts.
- Drive change management initiatives through strategic communication and adoption tactics.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on role design, hiring strategies, and onboarding processes.
- Provide primary HR partnership for the Burbank office with support for the San Diego team and remote employees across multiple states.
- Conduct thorough employee relations investigations and offer compliant guidance.
- Analyze workforce trends including engagement and retention to offer proactive solutions.
- Implement collaborative talent, leadership, and culture-building programs.
- Ensure adherence to California and federal employment laws while supporting business needs and employee experience.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 7 years progressive HR/People & Culture experience with strong expertise in employee relations.
- At least 5 years serving as an HR Business Partner to business leaders.
- Background supporting dynamic sectors like creative studios, entertainment, licensing, consumer products, gaming, or media.
- Thorough understanding of California employment legislation and HR compliance.
- Proven ability to influence leaders and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Experience in organizational design, talent strategy, workforce planning, and managing change.
- Strong analytical mindset capable of turning data into actionable recommendations.
- Exemplary judgment, discretion, and credibility at all organizational levels.
Compensation & Benefits
The position offers an annual base salary between $120,000 and $150,000, variable based on factors including experience and location. Additional incentives may include discretionary bonuses and restricted stock units. Funko provides a competitive benefits package including health benefits and a 401(k) plan with company matching.
Work Environment & Location
This role is based in Burbank, California, with a hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays. Occasional travel to San Diego, CA, and Everett, WA may be necessary. The work setting is generally moderate in noise level with standard office duties including sitting, typing, talking, and occasional light lifting.
