Senior BIM / CAD Technician

About the Role

Parsons is hiring a Senior BIM / CAD Technician in Qatar to support multidisciplinary design and coordination work across Civil, Architectural, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities disciplines. The role focuses on building, managing, and coordinating BIM and CAD information for major infrastructure projects, including design and as-built documentation.

What You Will Do

• Create and maintain BIM models and CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, and Navisworks.
• Develop concept layouts and design drawings for Civil, Architectural, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities scopes.
• Handle BIM models, documentation, and data submissions, including extraction of drawings and supporting quantity spreadsheets for design and as-built items.
• Assist with early-stage design development using 3D modeling and CAD drafting tools, while incorporating all relevant utilities information.
• Prepare clash detection outputs and review coordination points and interfaces across multiple disciplines.
• Work with site teams to verify, gather, and update information needed for as-built records, CAD drawings, and BIM models.

Required Background

• A Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Architecture from a recognized institute.
• At least 15 years of CAD drafting experience covering Architectural, Civil, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities work, along with BIM model handling experience using tools such as Revit and Navisworks.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD 2019 or newer, Revit Architecture, and Navisworks.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to prepare coordinated utility layouts aligned with applicable authority standards and utility provider requirements.
• Solid understanding of multidisciplinary coordination and clash detection methods.
• Careful attention to detail and the discipline to follow established CAD/BIM standards and procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to Doha Metro CAD/BIM work or similar large infrastructure programs such as railway or metro transportation systems.
• Familiarity with document control systems like Aconex or comparable platforms.
• Experience in a structured BIM setup that includes model federation and coordination workflows.
• Ability to organize and manage high volumes of drawings, models, and associated data efficiently.
