Job description

Role summary

This opportunity is with a globally connected investment banking advisory firm focused on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, along with corporate finance work for high-growth mid-market companies. The team advises founders, private equity sponsors, and corporate buyers on both sell-side and buy-side transactions, as well as capital-raising assignments. The role is based in the Munich office, which serves as the firm’s busy execution center for the DACH region.

The business operates in a fast-moving, high-volume deal environment, and the team is looking to bring in a diligent Senior Analyst or Junior Associate who can contribute immediately across live mandates.

Core responsibilities

  • Support the execution of cross-border M&A transactions on both the sell-side and buy-side, handling day-to-day deal coordination through pitch preparation, documentation, and completion.
  • Build, refine, and fully own detailed financial models, while performing valuation work such as DCF analysis, LBO modelling, sum-of-the-parts valuation, and trading and transaction multiple comparisons.
  • Prepare high-quality transaction materials, including confidential information memorandums, management presentations, and targeted teaser documents for buyer outreach.
  • Lead the management of the virtual data room and the question-and-answer process, reviewing financial, operating, and commercial information to surface risks and address diligence issues early.
  • Serve as a key contact for strategic buyers and financial sponsors throughout marketing and diligence, including handling technical questions and coordinating management meetings.
  • Guide junior analysts and interns where needed, while helping maintain a highly accurate, zero-error execution standard across the team.

Candidate profile

The role calls for an experienced M&A professional with strong transaction exposure and the maturity to work directly with demanding clients and investors. A strong interest in dynamic, innovation-led businesses is important, even if the candidate does not come from a specific industry background.

Success in this role requires strong corporate finance judgement, the ability to build robust models independently under pressure, and a calm, resilient approach in a demanding deal environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a lean team with a high level of responsibility and client interaction.

Language and education requirements

Native-level German and fully professional English are mandatory. The candidate should also have an excellent academic background from a top-tier university in Finance, Economics, Business, or another quantitative field.

Additional information

This position offers extensive exposure to live transactions, direct client-facing responsibilities, and strong scope for progression within a lean, high-performing team. It is designed for someone who wants to avoid the slower pace and layered structure often found in larger investment banking organizations.
