About the Role
We are recruiting for an established accountancy firm in Kildare renowned for providing diverse financial services including accounting, payroll management, audits, and business advisory. This opportunity suits an accountant seeking a varied role in a thriving practice that combines the professionalism of larger firms with a personable, client-centered approach. The firm has a sizeable team of over 20 professionals and is among the largest successful accountancy and advisory practices in County Kildare.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and validate annual financial statements for audit-exempt companies, sole traders, and owner-managed enterprises.
- Prepare and examine corporation and income tax returns and calculations.
- Oversee client engagements from initial data collection to full completion.
- Engage directly with clients to gather information, address concerns, and maintain assignment progress.
- Detect and manage accounting, taxation, and commercial issues arising during tasks.
- Support Senior Managers with client portfolio oversight and adherence to filing deadlines.
- Guide and mentor trainee and partly qualified accountants.
- Ensure all work meets accuracy, efficiency, budget, and deadline standards.
- Participate in enhancing and streamlining the firm’s accounting and tax operational procedures.
- Assist in audit engagements when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Holds ACA, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Possesses approximately three to four years of post-qualification experience in an Irish accountancy firm.
- Experienced in preparing financial statements specifically for audit-exempt entities and sole traders.
- Well-versed in Irish corporation and income tax compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage assignments and liaise closely with owner-managed business clients.
- Capable of supervising and supporting junior staff effectively.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities with excellent client service orientation.
- Proficient IT skills including advanced Excel use and familiarity with accounting and practice management software.
- Practical-minded with commercial awareness and solution-driven approach.
- Audit experience is beneficial though not mandatory.
