Job description

Role overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to take ownership of daily accounting activities across several regions, including North America and Europe. This position plays a central role in handling multi-country finance operations, supporting reporting requirements, and keeping the accounting function accurate, efficient, and well-controlled.

The role involves working across multiple platforms and currencies, with responsibility for accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, payroll, general ledger activity, expense tracking, vendor payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting at both public-company and board level.

This is a high-impact opportunity with flexibility during core business hours, the option to work in a hybrid format, and the chance to be part of a fast-moving, collaborative international team. Extended hours may be needed during busy close periods, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.

Core responsibilities

  • Handle full-cycle accounting tasks, including bank reconciliations and month-end journal entries with allocations, accruals, and intercompany entries in NetSuite.
  • Maintain amortization schedules for prepaid costs and capital expenditures.
  • Run payroll across multiple countries and payroll platforms.
  • Review partnership invoicing schedules regularly and configure the related revenue recognition setup in NetSuite.
  • Prepare, file, and reconcile HST/GST, Ontario EHT, and Ontario WSIB returns, including annual submissions.
  • Review balance sheet accounts in detail and make required adjustments.
  • Ensure month-end and quarter-end closes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support AP/AR activities, including employee reimbursements, vendor payments, and contractor disbursements across multiple countries and currencies.
  • Complete annual payroll reconciliations to support accurate T4 filings.
  • Prepare and submit T4A returns for all Canadian entities.
  • Coordinate RRSP cheques for senior management.
  • Manage renewals for corporate insurance policies and handle related internal inquiries.
  • Monitor CRA correspondence and respond to audit-related requests when required.
  • Maintain accounting systems and contribute to ongoing process improvements that strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support public company reporting and board-level reporting requirements.
  • Track and reconcile foreign exchange impacts.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable international accounting standards, tax rules, and internal policies.
  • Work with external service providers, auditors, and government bodies as needed.
  • Provide guidance on the AP and AR cycles.
  • Support annual audits and organize documentation for external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or an equivalent designation is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant accounting experience, including exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, and international operations, or 3+ years in public audit.
  • Practical experience with payroll, accounting systems, and platforms used across different countries.
  • Solid working knowledge of Office 365 and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience preparing financial updates for senior leadership and board audiences.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and organizational discipline.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Willingness to work longer hours during reporting and close cycles.
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish or German is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Spanish tax rules and/or Spanish GAAP (PGC) is a plus.
  • Experience with NetSuite, HUMI, DEEL, Tipalti, and banking platforms is beneficial.
  • Background in esports, gaming, or media-entertainment is an asset.
  • Understanding of public-company reporting expectations and SOX compliance is an added advantage.

Additional information

The position offers flexibility within core business hours and may include a hybrid arrangement with both remote and in-office work. Overtime can be expected during peak accounting periods such as month-end, quarterly closes, and year-end reporting.

Work environment

You will be part of a dynamic, international workplace where collaboration, accuracy, and adaptability are essential.
