Freelance Accountant (Full-Time, Hybrid)

About the Role

NÓRA LLC is an expanding Dubai-based e-commerce company seeking a sharp, dependable Accountant to run the day-to-day finance operations on a full-time freelance basis. The right person will be highly organized, accurate with numbers, and focused on keeping the books clean, timely, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage bookkeeping tasks such as entering data, categorizing transactions, and reconciling all bank activity.
• Match and reconcile Shopify records along with payment gateway activity, including platforms such as Stripe.
• Reconcile accounts for suppliers as well as retail and wholesale partners, and record operating expenses.
• Prepare daily profit and loss updates and issue monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, within set timelines.
• Carry out complete monthly reconciliations across all platforms, including cash-based transactions.
• Keep tax and VAT filing records organized and accurate for VAT/FTA compliance.
• Liaise with vendors, auditors, and tax consultants as needed.
• Look for ways to improve accounting workflows so they become faster, cleaner, and less error-prone.

Requirements

• Practical experience reconciling Shopify and payment gateway transactions is required.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks is essential.
• At least 5 years of experience in an e-commerce accounting environment, or equivalent professional experience at a Big 4 firm, with UAE-based exposure.
• Good understanding of UAE tax regulations and VAT rules to ensure accurate and compliant filings.
• Ability to share references and examples or case studies from prior assignments, employment, or client work.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• Professional credentials such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA are considered a major plus.
• Exceptional accuracy, strong attention to detail, and a quality-first mindset.
• Consistently reliable in meeting reporting and finance deadlines.
• Proactive approach to solving problems and reducing errors.
• Comfortable working independently on a full-time exclusive basis.
• Available to work during UAE business hours, 9 AM to 6 PM GST.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet capability, plus comfort handling financial data.
• High standards of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Clear written and spoken English communication skills.
