Self-Checkout Attendant (Part-Time)

Role overview

Walmart Canada is seeking a Self-Checkout Attendant in Brooks, Alberta. In this role, you will help shoppers use the self-service checkout area smoothly, provide friendly support, and contribute to a positive in-store experience. Key duties

• Maintain a tidy, orderly, and safe self-checkout area by removing clutter, debris, foreign objects, liquids, and any unnecessary fixtures.
• Guide customers on how to use self-service checkout tools correctly and efficiently when support is needed.
• Encourage participation in company-sponsored programs such as credit card offers, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives where relevant.
• Monitor customer activity to spot when assistance may be required.
• When intervention or quality checks are needed, explain the reason calmly and professionally, and reassure customers that these checks are a normal part of self-checkout operations.
• Know how to respond to EAS alarms and complete the “Failure to Deactivate” log when required.
• Contact the Customer Service Manager if the self-service area is short on cash or experiencing a technical issue.
• Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated place after use.

Pay

The starting hourly pay for this role is $16.15.

Minimum qualifications

Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
