Job description
Role overview
Amazon is seeking a practical, detail-focused Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) Specialist to help safeguard operational sites in Troisdorf, North Rhine-Westphalia. In this role, you will support security as a service across the end-to-end supply chain, helping protect people, reduce losses, and maintain continuity across operations.
Key responsibilities
- Help strengthen business resilience by supporting emergency and crisis planning for sites within your area of responsibility.
- Identify risks and weak points such as losses, associate experience concerns, and process gaps, then help define corrective measures while staying aligned with legal and ethical standards.
- Act as a contact point for local management and outside stakeholders, including law enforcement and industry groups, and help coordinate security-related risk management actions.
- Make sure assigned locations follow Amazon’s global security standards.
What the role involves day to day
You will work with a team of Security and Loss Prevention professionals serving multiple business units across a defined geographic area. Your routine will include physical security audits, policy-violation reviews, incident investigations, and loss-event investigations.
You will gather evidence by reviewing systems and tools, analyzing reports, and interviewing relevant people. The insights you produce will be used to identify process vulnerabilities and improve controls.
You will also help maintain the physical integrity of sites by checking the condition of security systems and working with subject matter experts and external vendors to keep them operational. A large part of the job involves daily collaboration with external security providers to ensure strong service quality and a smooth experience for internal customers.
In addition, you will serve as a liaison for internal and external teams such as legal, HR, security vendors, and local law enforcement, while acting as a subject matter resource for Security and Loss Prevention topics.
You will also deliver awareness and training initiatives related to loss prevention and work with stakeholders across all management levels on policies and procedures.
About the team
This position sits within Global Security Operations. The team helps Amazon reach business goals and protect its brand by reducing threats and managing security and loss prevention risks that could affect people, disrupt operations, damage assets, or harm reputation.
Working closely with stakeholders, the team protects the Amazon supply chain end to end, promotes security in business discussions, prevents risks early, responds to active incidents to reduce impact, and investigates incidents thoroughly to remove root causes and avoid repeat occurrences.
Qualifications and experience
To succeed in this role, you should bring experience in one or more of the following areas: security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, compliance, or a related field.
You should also be comfortable using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook in a professional setting. Fluency in German, along with business-level English speaking and writing skills, is required.
Preferred background
A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification in a related discipline, is preferred. Additional strengths include hands-on knowledge of physical security practices, including physical security systems, investigation methods, and contract guard management. Experience in distribution centers, logistics, or manufacturing environments, as well as working with data and analytics, is also valued. A driver’s license is an added advantage.
Equal opportunity and privacy
Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and makes hiring decisions based on experience and skills. The company emphasizes diversity, innovation, simplicity, and customer focus. Candidate privacy and data security are treated as top priorities, and applicants are encouraged to review Amazon’s privacy notice for details on how personal data is collected, used, and transferred.
Amazon also supports workplace accommodations for candidates with disabilities during the application, interview, or onboarding process.
