Role Overview

The Search & Ad Ops Executive partners with the performance and operations teams to execute, optimize, monitor, and report on paid search and digital advertising campaigns for diverse client portfolios. This role is crucial in managing daily campaign operations, ensuring accuracy, driving performance targets, and upholding platform best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay inquisitive to expand knowledge on search and digital advertising platforms, emerging trends, technologies, and leading practices to enhance client outcomes.
  • Understand clients' industries, competitors, target demographics, and goals to align campaign strategies with business objectives.
  • Contribute innovative solutions and leverage platform features to boost campaign effectiveness and showcase agency expertise.
  • Assist in client reporting by delivering clear insights, analyses, and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Performance, Client Service, Strategy, and Analytics teams to maintain alignment with agency and client aims.
  • Work closely with Digital Planners, Performance Specialists, creative partners, and media experts to ensure integrated, high-quality media executions.
  • Foster strong internal relationships and contribute positively to team culture while supporting shared objectives.
  • Participate actively in meetings and knowledge-sharing initiatives, offering insights and best practices.
  • Maintain effective and professional communication with colleagues, media partners, and clients to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
  • Engage proactively in ongoing professional development through training, certifications, and industry learning.
  • Take responsibility for personal growth through feedback, coaching, and continuous skill enhancement.
  • Manage end-to-end paid search campaign setup, trafficking, monitoring, and optimization, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and objective-aligned delivery.
  • Analyze campaign data to identify performance improvements, troubleshoot issues, and maximize KPIs.
  • Interpret reports and trends to offer meaningful analysis and strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate client reports, including interim updates and post-campaign reviews.
  • Ensure campaign setups, tagging, tracking, and platform configurations comply with standards and maintain quality assurance.
  • Integrate innovative tools and platform advances to improve campaign efficiency and value.
  • Accurately enter campaign details and costs into internal systems to support timely invoicing and financial reports.
  • Carefully manage campaign budgets, monitor spending, and make adjustments to avoid over- or under-delivery and financial risks.
  • Continuously monitor campaign pacing and raise concerns as needed to maintain budget adherence and performance.
  • Support revenue, margin, and profitability goals through efficient campaign and budget management.
  • Maintain precise financial documents, orders, and system updates to support governance and auditing processes.

Candidate Profile

  • At least three years’ experience in paid search, performance marketing, ad operations, or digital media within a media agency setting.
  • Hands-on management of search campaigns on leading platforms.
  • Competence in analyzing campaign performance and delivering actionable insights.
  • Track record managing campaign budgets responsibly.
  • Familiarity with digital analytics, tracking, and reporting technologies.
  • Experience engaging with clients or managing stakeholder relationships.

Technical Expertise

  • Certifications in Google Ads and/or Google Analytics.
  • Experience using ad technology platforms such as SA360, Google Ads, Campaign Manager 360.
  • Ability to contribute to multi-channel digital media strategies encompassing search, social, display, and video formats.

Compensation

The position offers an annual salary between 62000 and 70000 NZD, plus Kiwisaver benefits.
