Recognized ten times on the Inc. 5000 list for rapid growth, CCM boasts a vibrant culture that promotes employee growth, engagement, and transparency through an entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative support system.

Eligible employees are provided with competitive pay and enhanced benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K plans, company-funded short-term disability, employee assistance programs, and wellness initiatives.

Role Overview

The Scrum Master / Flow Master is responsible for applying agile methodologies to coach teams in the timely delivery of customer value, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing portfolio intake and capacity, and ensuring alignment with departmental goals. This role partners with Portfolio Owners, Product Managers, Technical Delivery Managers, and other Flow Masters to manage workflow and mitigate risks. The position requires working hours aligned to the Eastern Standard Time Zone to support the East Coast region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead agile projects from inception through product launch.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to clarify project goals and expected results.
  • Facilitate Agile rituals including daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Identify and remove impediments blocking the team's progress; maintain agile metrics on visible boards.
  • Analyze and report on scrum metrics like velocity, cycle time, sprint burndown, and predictability to identify improvements and guide data-driven decisions.
  • Coach teams and employees on agile frameworks and best practices.
  • Foster collaboration and transparency with clear, timely communication to stakeholders.
  • Create an environment that promotes accountability, team collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the portfolio intake pipeline, ensuring all requests are properly triaged and ready for intake sessions.
  • Enforce process compliance by ensuring work flows through the portfolio backlog; redirect direct requests to the correct process.
  • Organize portfolio-level events such as intake reviews, portfolio syncs, and leadership meetings, providing insights without prioritizing work.
  • Maintain accurate portfolio tracking through Jira dashboards; keep initiative statuses current and aligned with delivery realities.
  • Track portfolio health scores, delivery metrics, governance, and KPIs for discussion in portfolio and leadership meetings.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies with peer Flow Masters; escalate unresolved conflicts as necessary.
  • Maintain the portfolio exception log to document changes, bypass attempts, priority overrides, and emergency requests with proper resolutions.
  • Support quarterly portfolio planning activities including capacity planning and backlog reviews.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or PMI-ACP.
  • Proven expertise leading substantial web-based software projects and launching new products.
  • Experience in rapidly changing environments with frequent software releases.
  • Background in portfolio or program management with skills in managing intake, capacity, and delivery visibility across multiple teams.
  • Strong knowledge of agile principles and frameworks applicable to both sprint-based and Kanban workflows.
  • Familiarity with Jira or comparable tools for portfolio management and reporting.
  • Understanding of software engineering concepts, databases, analytics, reporting, and cloud technologies.
  • Confident in facilitating both team-level and leadership meetings, effectively communicating portfolio status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to address complex challenges in fast-paced settings.
  • Ability to juggle competing priorities and manage multiple teams to successful outcomes.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
