Job description

Role overview

This is a contract assignment rather than a direct full-time position with Boeing. If selected, you would be engaged through a Boeing-approved third-party staffing partner for the length of the project.

Join Boeing’s APEX team, which focuses on rebuilding highly accurate as-built 360-degree visuals of Boeing products. These image records support engineering, maintenance, and other operational groups by preserving exact visual details, including imperfections, defects, and capture artifacts. The role is centered on protecting the accuracy and fidelity of Boeing’s product documentation.

What you will do

  • Refine and rebuild 360-degree image sets, including cube views and equirectangular panoramas, by compositing source files to correct issues such as stitch misalignment, lens flare, dust on sensors, and similar capture or stitching problems.
  • Partner with quality assurance teams to address markup comments and rework requests so the final output meets Boeing’s quality expectations.
  • Remove tripod shadows and other downshot obstructions by using offset captures, and when needed, careful painting and cloning work.
  • Flag errors that span multiple cubes so they can be corrected during rework while preserving edge alignment and stitch continuity.
  • Keep working PSDs, equirectangular files, and project notes neatly organized on local and server storage until delivery is complete.
  • Follow the defined APEX retouching workflow from software setup and assignment handling through downloading assets, editing, rework, and final submission.
  • Manage your time effectively to meet expected turnaround targets, typically finishing a standard FOM scene of 6 cubes within 4 to 8 hours without sacrificing quality.
  • Use onboarding materials, training resources, and the retouching wiki to stay up to date on tools, terminology, and procedures.

Required qualifications

  • Strong Adobe Photoshop capability, especially in compositing, layer work, and non-destructive editing.
  • Background working with high-resolution panoramic imagery, ideally 360-degree or spherical images.
  • Good understanding of color management, specifically North American Prepress 2 settings.
  • Comfort handling complex file formats and structures such as PSD cubes, TIF, DNG, and equirectangular panoramas.
  • Experience with 360 stitching tools such as PTGui and HDR stacking is an advantage.
  • Sharp eye for detail and the ability to spot subtle image defects and stitching issues.
  • Strong organizational ability to juggle several scenes and projects at once.
  • Clear communication skills for working with QA, technical support, and other teammates.
  • Ability to work independently and know when to ask for support.

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this assignment is USD 47 to USD 52 per hour.

Optional benefits may include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan.

Equal opportunity and legal notice

The hiring partner is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other legally protected characteristics.

Applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered in line with applicable law, including the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act. For unincorporated Los Angeles County workers, the employer reasonably believes criminal history may relate directly and adversely to certain duties, including protecting client property and hardware from theft, loss, or damage; returning portable client computer hardware and data after the assignment; and maintaining confidentiality of client proprietary, confidential, or non-public information.
