About the Role

Join Palmview State Secondary College as a Schools Officer responsible for Grounds and Facilities, contributing to maintaining a vibrant, secure, and welcoming campus environment that supports student development. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage routine tasks including delivery and collection of mail, parcels, and documents, handling messages, and performing printing and photocopying duties.
  • Prepare classrooms for examinations and arrange activity or assembly halls by organizing furniture and seating; relocate furniture between rooms as necessary.
  • Handle general store responsibilities such as receipting, checking, storing, and distributing school supplies and stock while maintaining registers and inventory of school equipment and assets.
  • Support school security operations by operating and maintaining security systems, managing the transport and deposit of school funds (excluding fund collection or reconciliation), and controlling building access during core hours.
  • Perform maintenance tasks including clearing drains and gutters, collecting waste materials from school grounds, undertaking immediate cleaning outside of regular cleaning hours, and coordinating rubbish removal; assist in preparation for major school events like fetes, plays, and sports.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards by maintaining a safe working environment, safely storing and handling chemicals, fertilizers, and fuel, reporting hazards, maintaining equipment records, and servicing tools and equipment following manufacturer manuals.
