About The Role
Join The Lunch Bag team, Ireland's leading provider of healthy, hot school meals, dedicated to fostering lifelong healthy eating habits among children. Key Responsibilities
- Load pre-packaged school meals into ovens and heat them according to strict HACCP standards to ensure proper food safety.
- Unload heated meals and efficiently load them into delivery vans for transport.
- Drive company vehicles to deliver meals to local schools, maintaining punctual and reliable service.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure adequate supplies.
- Adhere to thorough cleaning schedules and maintain accurate temperature and cleanliness records to meet hygiene guidelines.
Candidate Profile
We seek dependable, pleasant individuals who take pride in performing their tasks with care, representing The Lunch Bag positively in school environments. Physical ability to lift approximately 14kg boxes and navigate stairs at some locations is required. Candidates must maintain composure under pressure and work efficiently without compromising quality.
Applicants should be able to read English fluently and hold a full, clean Irish driving license. A friendly and energetic attitude towards driving roughly one-hour routes to various schools is essential.
Work Schedule and Terms
- Part-time hours: approximately 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, with some flexibility in start and finish times.
- Employment follows the academic calendar, with work on about 183 school days per year. No work during school summer breaks when staff receive social welfare as Educational Sector Workers.
- Training in HACCP standards and manual handling will be provided.
Compensation and Benefits
The role offers €14.65 per hour, which is 50 cents above the minimum wage, reflecting our commitment to our team’s welfare. You will enjoy a supportive work environment, flexible scheduling, and meaningful engagement during the school term.
