Role Overview

As a School Lunch Operative, you will be the final crucial step in the delivery process. Meals are prepared at our central kitchen in Nenagh, Tipperary and then transported to designated Hot Drop locations. Your responsibilities will include heating meals, preparing them for pick-up, and delivering them to schools using company vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Load pre-packed school meals into ovens.
• Heat meals according to HACCP standards, ensuring proper temperature control.
• Unload heated meals and load them into delivery vans.
• Drive company vehicles to distribute meals across local schools.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of meals.
• Adhere to and uphold work and cleaning schedules meticulously.
• Record temperature and cleaning details as required.
• Undergo HACCP and Manual Handling training provided by the company.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 14kg regularly.
• Comfortable climbing stairs as some locations may lack lift access.
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure while maintaining high standards.
• Must be able to read English proficiently.
• Hold a full, clean Irish driving license.
• Reliable, good-natured with a genuine commitment to performing the role well.
• Enjoy a role that involves being outdoors and driving approximately one hour per delivery round.

Work Schedule & Conditions

• Part-time position, approximately 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
• Typical shift runs from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM with some flexibility in start and end times.
• Employment follows the academic calendar, working about 183 days yearly aligned with school terms.
• Summer break off, with staff qualifying as Educational Sector Workers for Social Welfare during this period.
