Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls and process faxed requests to arrange outpatient test appointments.
  • Handle pre-registration for scheduled patients and verify that proper provider orders are in place.
  • Provide patient support with empathy while helping maintain safe, high-quality care.
  • Use understanding of medical terminology and insurance payor types to assist patients effectively.
  • Operate with minimal supervision while balancing multiple tasks and priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of prior experience in radiology scheduling or patient access.
  • Working knowledge of insurance payors, including commercial, government, and third-party plans.
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Experience working in a healthcare office environment, including familiarity with CPT and ICD-10.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at once and use time efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in a healthcare setting with a focus on patient scheduling.
  • Exposure to electronic health record systems.
  • Strong people skills to improve patient interactions.
  • Any additional credentials related to patient access or scheduling.
