Shift Details
This role requires open availability. Candidates must be able to work any shift and should also be prepared for overtime and weekend work when needed.
What You Will Do
- Keep the production floor and nearby areas clean and orderly.
- Operate cleaning tools and equipment such as scrapers, brushes, pads, vacuums, scrub machines, compressed air, and power washers to clean floors, ceilings, and walls in areas such as the warehouse, freezer, refrigerator, packing, and production spaces.
- Carry out lockout procedures, take apart equipment when required, and complete cleaning and sanitizing of production machinery according to the master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedures.
- Follow cleaning practices that meet Good Manufacturing Practices, as well as health and safety requirements.
- Gather waste and recyclable materials from the production area and ensure proper disposal.
- Help respond to major spills involving liquid or dry product when necessary.
- Complete specialized cleaning tasks in line with the master sanitation schedule.
- Follow all relevant legal requirements and company policies related to food safety, health and safety, and environmental protection.
What Will Help You Succeed
- A genuine interest in bread and baked foods.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting, especially within food manufacturing, is an advantage.
- Previous work in sanitation, particularly industrial sanitation, is preferred.
- Comfort handling sanitizing agents and chemical cleaning products.
- Strong focus on detail and the ability to consistently meet company cleanliness standards.
- Enjoyment of a fast-moving environment, with the ability to work independently and continue learning and developing.
- Ability to receive feedback constructively and use it to improve performance and skills.
