Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position based in New Westminster, BC, requires the team member to maintain cleanliness across facility spaces such as common areas, restrooms, and offices. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste disposal, supply restocking, and adherence to detailed cleaning schedules and safety protocols. The role also demands safe handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns, and assisting in special cleaning tasks or room arrangements as needed, all in cooperation with supervisors and colleagues to maintain an orderly environment.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Effective communication skills to follow directives, interact courteously with clients and visitors, and coordinate with team members.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards when working near food preparation or dining areas.
- Competency in sanitation techniques, cleaning procedures, and the safe use of cleaning agents and tools.
- Experience with training or eagerness to learn new cleaning methods, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Preferred prior janitorial or housekeeping experience, with physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability in schedule adherence, capability to work independently or collaboratively, confidentiality maintenance, and compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
