Role overview
This position is for a seasoned sales professional who can expand business in the government and public sector space, especially across state secretariats, departments, and PSUs. The focus is on developing relationships, uncovering new business opportunities, and closing sizable consulting and technology engagements.
Responsibilities
- Grow business in government departments and state secretariats through focused sales activity.
- Create and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders such as bureaucrats, procurement teams, and decision-makers.
- Spot opportunities for consulting, digital transformation, data, and technology offerings.
- Handle the full sales journey from initial lead identification through to deal closure.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare proposals, RFP responses, and presentation material.
- Monitor government tenders, empanelments, and upcoming project opportunities.
- Deliver revenue objectives and build a strong sales pipeline.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in government, PSU, or public sector sales.
- Established connections within the Maharashtra or Gujarat government ecosystem; experience with state secretariats is preferred.
- Prior success in selling consulting, IT services, data, or digital solutions.
- Good knowledge of government procurement workflows and tendering processes, including RFPs and GeM.
- Strong capability in stakeholder management and negotiation.
