Role Summary
The Sales Representative for the East Coast Air Force region will be instrumental in cultivating customer relationships by delivering innovative solutions, mission-critical products, and procurement avenues that address daily challenges faced by clients. Responsibilities include developing and managing sales opportunities through account and end-user relationships across designated agencies.
Territory Focus
The assigned area covers key military bases along the East Coast, including Joint Base Andrews, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Dover AFB, Langley-Eustis, McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, Hanscom AFB, and multiple Air National Guard bases such as Otis, Barnes, Pease, Quonset Point, Bradley, Bangor, and Burlington.
Mission and Customer Emphasis
This position supports Special Operations Forces units and rapid acquisition efforts crucial to special operations mission readiness.
Principal Duties
- Surpass quarterly and annual revenue and profit targets
- Build and maintain customer and vendor relationships while identifying new sales opportunities in the assigned region and beyond if needed
- Maintain and report weekly sales pipeline including opportunities, quotes, and orders
- Collaborate with clients to gather requirements for bids and contract proposals for equipment and services
- Engage in client site visits, industry events, and vendor ride-alongs to foster sales leads
- Gather and share competitive intelligence and market insights internally
- Prepare accurate price quotes and determine suitable credit, contract terms, warranties, and delivery schedules
- Operate internal CRM and ERP systems for quote and order processing
- Support Inside Sales with quote generation and identifying optimal funding sources
- Recommend products tailored to customer needs and preferences
- Complete administrative tasks such as sales reporting, record maintenance, and expense submissions timely
- Work with customer professionals to provide product feedback to influence development or enhancements
- Promptly process incoming quotes through various communication channels
- Devise marketing strategies to expand the sales lead pipeline within the region
- Apply a team-oriented sales approach coordinating territory strategy, vendor relations, and dealer management
Additional Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with management, customers, vendors, and partners
- Own the entire customer sales journey
- Keep an up-to-date schedule covering client communications, travel, and sales activities
Qualifications
- Proven understanding of Government Sales and Federal Contracting
- Experience interfacing with Department of Defense, Military, Federal Agencies, or Law Enforcement sectors
- Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Skilled in negotiation and persuasion
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to obtain security clearance if necessary
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree plus three years of sales experience, or alternatively, five years of relevant industry experience without a degree
Technical Competencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Office Suites
- Experience using Salesforce CRM
- Skilled at online research
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is advantageous
Physical and Work Environment
- Typical office setting with responsibilities requiring travel to various customer sites and events
- Remote administrative work can be conducted from a home office
