Job description
Role Overview
KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) offers integrated support across the full asset lifecycle, covering licensed process technologies, advisory services, specialist technical expertise, energy transition support, advanced design capabilities, and smart solutions that help optimize both planned and operating assets.
The organization is seeking a Safety Officer to conduct safety inspections of equipment, tools, and site conditions and help protect workers involved in oil and gas facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Check equipment, tools, and workplace conditions to confirm they meet safety standards for personnel working in oil and gas facilities.
- Review items such as safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and hand tools, and ensure non-compliant items are replaced.
- Monitor work crews and report unsafe practices, including failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other protective equipment.
- Inspect ditches and tunnels, and recommend bracing or other controls to reduce the risk of cave-ins.
- Investigate incidents to identify root causes and develop measures that prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance to workers on correct safety equipment use and safe work methods when required.
- Ensure full compliance with all safety procedures.
- Promote reporting of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Follow all SHE requirements before starting work and throughout the job.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least 8 years of experience in oil and gas maintenance, with a high school qualification.
- At least 6 years of experience in oil and gas maintenance, with a diploma qualification.
- Good technical knowledge of maintenance tasks connected to safety.
- Highly organized, proactive, and an effective communicator.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in large organizations.
- Sound judgment under pressure and the ability to solve problems.
- Strategic management capability.
